Julien de Casabianca, 46, French and Corsican, is both a visual artist and a filmmaker.
In 2014, he launched Outings Project, which consists in bringing paintings from museum walls into the streets. He has been invited by many museums around the world to play with their collections and show his work in exhibitions in museums and galleries of the photographs he took of his collages and shot.
His work is always related to the street.
Literature Nobel Prize Gao Xingjian wrote the script of his first movie, a short-film entitled Night after the rain, entirely shot in imaginary city streets. The original soundtrack was composed by pianist Yaron Herman.
For his first feature-length, Passing by, he spent three years filming anonymous passers-by in the streets of 44 cities in 22 countries. The movie was praised by famous director Costa-Gavras, who was “deeply moved and touched in the bottom of his heart”.
Passing by, also became an art video installation on forty screen on the facade of the 4th District Paris city hall, showed to passerby, order by Christophe Girard, inaugurated and sponsored by Mrs Charlotte Rampling.
He is invited to many art universities to give lectures (Tokyo, London, Hong-Kong, Aberdeen, Katmandu...)
